THE 3RD EUROTRANSIT WORK PARTY @ KANDERSTEG INTERNATIONAL SCOUT COMING IN 2010!

After two ver succesful editions, the Eurotransit Network is proud to announce the 3rd Work Party at KISC in Switzerland.  Date for this year will be comfirmed soon:  [ ] - [ ] October 2010.

For those who are not at all familiar with the concept, we gladly will give you some introduction here:

Kandersteg International Scout Centre (KISC): is a World Centre of the World Organisation of the Scout Movement (WOSM).  The Centre began in 1923 with Baden-Powell, who, after the 1st World Jamboree, had a dream about a place where all Scouts from all over the world could meet.  His dream came true and you have the opportunity to visit Kandersteg International Scout Centre and live your dream!   KISC has over 10,000 guests each year from around 40 countries, as well as a young Staff Team of volunteers from around the world.

Here you can find pictures from sunrise ceremony on the 21^st world Scout jamboree in Hylands Park in the UK.

KONTAKT is an international meeting between DPSG & ZHP. They meet once per year , usually in autumn, to discuss cooperation in various projects to promote the international dimension in Scouting.

Summer Project 2010 - Global European Village

An international summer camp project for Scout & Guide groups 

When: 6 - 22 August 2010     Where: Germany

As with all networks, organisations and even groups of friends, some people have to take responsibility to organise events and day to day work. In 2006 in Slovakia we all agreed to find these people and to give them a role description. And so it was that in 2007 in Ireland we agreed a more formal structure for the Network. The main aim was to ensure that we have a "strong structure that responds to the needs of the members".

The structure of the Eurotransit Network has 4 key Coordinator roles. Together they form the Core Team. The current Coordinators are:

Eurotransit is a Network of volunteers from European Scout & Guide organisations which builds European contacts through active projects, exchanges and partnerships.

Our activities are designed to compliment existing national and international structures, by offering direct access for all groups to international activities.

Through previous projects, the Network has a specialisation in east-west exchanges, has extensive contacts for summer camps, partnerships and sharing of inter-cultural learning experiences

GOALS

• a platform for local froups to find links
• to be a tool for promoting initiatives of WOSM & WAGGGS etc
