Cioclovina – Basic camp

Camp idea: 

The point that you will reach, is that of acknowledgement of your own limits and capabilities, may they be physical, artistic, mental and so on, all in the pleasant but also challenging environment of Cioclovina. 

The camp`s keywords are: exchange, improve, enjoy.

EXCHANGE: there will be a non-stop cultural exchange between scouts of multiple nationalities through sharing cultural values throughout the duration of the camp and also with locals in Cioclovina. 

IMPROVE: improving yourself and the environment.

ENJOY: isn`t all about having fun? 

When:     06^th - 16^th of August 2012

Location: Gradistea Muncelului-Cioclovina National Park - Cioclovina  

   Natural Park is situated in the massive Șureanu Mountains, with the Orăștie Mountains and Sebeşului Mountains as subdivisions. The borders are: the Haţeg Valley to the west and the Orăştie Valley to the north. The land within the park’s border includes large forested areas, steps, meadows, fields, carstic zones, water courses, historical monuments, archaeological sites, and settlements.     

      Program:

Day 1: Accommodation - Arrival of our guests - Transport will be provided from Deva to Cioclovina ,Camp Opening - Introducing the WWC Project ,it`s aim and relationship with the Eurotransit Network. Games: Getting to know each-other.

Day 2: Morning: Mapping Cioclovina-Hike to one of the highest peaks in Cioclovina from where they can view and draw a map of the land. (Binoculars would be great) 

       Afternoon: Cultural Exchange- language workshops and customs.

Day 3: Campsite working and workshops around the scoutbase 

Day 4: Traditions: Cheese day! - Visiting the local shepherd to get a glimpse on how cheese is made in local tradition.

Day 5: Community Work: Getting in touch with locals , visiting workshops from around the village , learning local crafts.

Day 6: Cave day- Hike to Cioclovina cave; speleology, rock climbing and many other workshops including the 5 hour journey through the cave. 

Day 7: International Day, to show each other the speciality of the country

Day 8: Spiritual day: Morning- Local customs and religion

                    : Noon- Land Art. 

                    : Evening- Majorcan Evening.

Day 9: Hike to Sarmisegetusa Regia- Departure, arrival and laying down the tents. You will be visiting the famous ruins of the former Dacian capital.

Day 10: Hike from Sarmisegetusa Regia - Getting back to Cioclovina.

Day 11: Evaluation day. Official Closing of the Camp.  

Additional information will be given to the participating groups on request.

National Photo Camp in Cioclovina

Date: 24^th – 31^st of August 2012

Place: Cioclovina

Program:

You will learn from professional photographers and be with them on a tour through the national park, where Cioclovina is situated.

You will learn how to make photos of:

-          County and people

-          Nature around

-          Excursion into caves

-          Sports and activities

-          Adventures like canoeing and climbing

So you see adventurous times are waiting for you!!!
